Lompoc is a city located in Santa Barbara County, California. The first settlers were known to be the Chumash tribe. The city’s name is derived from the Chumash word “Lum Poc” which means “little lake”.
The total area comprise of 30.1 square kilometers wherein all of it is land area.
The total population according to the 2000 US census is 41,103 and in the 2009 census it is recorded to be 40,442. This means that there was a negative population growth of -2.97 percent.

The hottest month is July with temperatures rising to 73 degrees Fahrenheit and January is the coldest month with temperatures up to 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Lompoc is known for its beautiful flower fields as well as the local Air Force Base.
