A small beach with a lot of charm, the main street offers a diverse array of restaurants, bars, and boutiques while the beach itself is low key and relatively free from litter.
The parking lot next to the pier is $6 for the day or you can park on the street. Seal Beach is home to the second longest wooden pier in California and is an ideal spot for fishing and sightseeing. There is also a Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier with great views.
Surfing locations include the Seal Beach pier and “Ray Bay”-the surfers' nickname for the mouth of the San Gabriel River. It’s also a popular spot for wind and kite surfing and the horizon is always dotted with a number of kite surfers.
Seal Beach is a quaint beach town with enough character and liveliness to spend a pleasant Saturday morning having breakfast and window-shopping on Main Street, but not so rowdy that you can’t enjoy a relaxing afternoon peacefully watching the waves.
With volleyball nets and a playground, it’s also a great place for kids.
