Reviews Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach
Located south of Seal Beach and Surfside, Sunset beach is situated along the Pacific Coast Highway and is home to some great views of the Long Beach skyline. Expect soft sand, beach volleyball nets, restrooms, and free parking. It’s great for windsurfing and flying kites and the bay across the street is ideal for launching kayaks. This is a quiet, low-key beach and a perfect place to escape the more crowded shores of Huntington Beach. However there are no beach concessions so bring a picnic.
While it’s a quaint and mellow place to hang out, I can’t give it 5 stars because there’s usually a fair amount of litter and it can be incredibly windy, which makes it great for kitesurfing and windsurfing, but not ideal for a lazy lounge on the beach with a good book. And don’t be surprised to see a few people out there with metal detectors. It’s considered a good spot for treasure hunting.
