The Long Beach Antique Market, held during the third Sunday of every month, is one of the better flea markets in Southern California.
If you’re looking for vintage and one of a kind items, this is definitely the place to visit. They have everything from sports memorabilia to WWI collectibles as well as clothes, furniture, accessories, and a plethora of art.
Admission price is $5 between 6:30 am and 2:00 pm. They also have an early bird admission price of $10 from 5:30 am – 6:30 am if you’re looking to get in and get to the good stuff before anyone else. Children under the age of 12 get in for free. Be sure to bring cash although there is an ATM. The market happens rain or shine so don’t let bad weather deter you. Parking is free and the walk from the lot to the market is a short one.
You can definitely make a day out of the antique market, but be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water. The layout is linear and easy to negotiate and the vendors are friendly and ready and willing to bargain. If you’re looking to get to the good stuff, it’s best to arrive very early (which is when most of the serious collectors arrive). You can also arrive later in the day when most of the vendors are packing up and are willing to part with items at a great price.
Either way the Long Beach Antique Market is full of interesting and unique treasures and is a great place to head by yourself or with friends.
