Long Beach Harbor is one of the largest shipping ports in the world. This harbor section was once home to people of Italy, German, Dutch, Spain and Portugal ancestry. Most of them were employed in the manufacturing and fishery canneries until the 1960s. In 2005, the long beach harbor was the second busiest seaport in United States. This port serves shipping between the Pacific Rim and United States.
