City Place

City Place, a glorified strip mall located in downtown Long Beach, would be completely uninteresting if it weren’t for the weekly Farmer’s Market and the free trolley.
The place itself is 6 blocks of chain store after chain store. Everything from WalMart to Nordstrom Rack and Ross, the shopping is not particularly unique or especially interesting. It’s not bad, it’s just that it’s what you would find anywhere across the country and there is nothing unique about it. However every Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. there is a lovely little Farmer’s Market at City Place. My only complaint is that it ends a bit early for those who work.
The trolley, operating every day between 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. runs through downtown Long Beach and has multiple stops going through City Place. It’s a fun and inexpensive (free) way to see the city.
