The Pike at Rainbow Harbor is a pleasant little shopping center in Long Beach with a multitude of restaurants as well as a theatre, bowling alley, arcade, and ferris wheel. Kids will definitely enjoy the bowling alley and the arcade. The movie theatre here is a little less expensive than some of the other theatres in the area, but by the time you’ve paid for parking, it evens out.
There isn’t a whole lot to do here, as there are only a few small shops however it’s a nice place to go for a walk or to grab a bite to eat. In fact, I wouldn’t recommend going here for anything else. The view of the Queen Mary at night is lovely and walking down the boardwalk for a funnel cake on your way to the ferris wheel is always fun. The ferris wheel closes at 8 p.m. however which is a bit early especially if you want to head that way after a nice meal. Parker’s Lighthouse restaurant has a wonderful view and is a great place to watch the sunset while enjoying a drink or a seafood dinner.
The Pike is a good place to have dinner and then meander around or spend an afternoon with family, but I wouldn’t go here for the shopping or to see the sights.
