Reviews Petersen Automotive Museum
Petersen Automotive Museum
Classic car enthusiasts will find a state-of-the-art historic oasis at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California. Located at 6060 Wilshire Boulevard, the Petersen Automotive Museum chronicles the rise of the automobile in America through a series of impressive exhibits and exotic vehicles from history. Covering over 300,000 square feet, the museum features more than 150 rare and classic cars, trucks and motorcycles. The second floor is particularly remarkable, with a series of five rotating galleries of racecars, vintage motorcycles, concept cars, movie cars and auto technology. There is also an interactive section of museum designed to inspire and educated visitors about fundamental functions of automobiles through hands-on learning activities.
Given the visual appeal of the vehicles, the museum makes for an incredible attraction regardless of whether or not you have a particular interest in car history. The vibrant-colored cars resemble life-sized Matchbox cars, making the stunning museum a thrilling experience for kids of all ages. In keeping with the retro theme of many of the cars featured, the museum has a Johnny Rocket’s restaurant, which is a great burger joint for families to stop and finish off their day of fun.
