Amidst the commerciality, glamour and bustle of Los Angeles, California is the quiet, environmental oasis of Elysian Park. Located at 1880 Academy Drive, Elysian Park is nestled peacefully away from the city but provides visitors with an unparalleled view of Dodger Stadium. Covering 600 acres, Elysian Park is the second largest park in Los Angeles and also happens to be the oldest.
Elysian Park is a great destination for hiking excursions, as it’s filled with weaving trails and dirt roads that culminate in almost 10 miles of hiking. Along the way, you’ll pass beautiful shady glens, vast grasslands and typical Los Angeles landscaping like palm trees. The many trees and greenery provide ample shade, under which you can lounge on a blanket for the perfect picnic. There are also picnic tables for organized gatherings like corporate events, family reunions and graduation parties.
Elysian Park seems to go on forever, so that you feel like you never travel the same path twice. It’s the type of park you should go to when you have no other obligations but devoting the entire day to getting lost in the wonders of nature.
