Olvera Street is situated in the oldest part of Downtown Los Angeles in California. This street is part of the El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument, and is referred by the locals as La Placita Olvera.

This street site was designated in 1953 as a California State Historic Landmark. The street is also a living museum that pays homage to romantic vision of old Mexico.

This street attracts two million visitors each year. A traditional event, the Blessing of the Animals, is held every Saturday prior to Easter at this street.
