The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is a US National Recreation area administered by the National Park Service. This is 150,000 acres of rugged mountain, with rolling hills, steep canyons and 50 miles of beachfront. The area overlooks both the Pacific Ocean and L.A. basin and stretches from Griffith Park to the Ventura County Line. There are also many recreational opportunities like camping, biking, hiking and horseback riding at the recreation area.
