Milpitas city is situated in Santa Clara County, California. Milpitas also finds its position within the Silicon Valley. It has its location with San Jose to its southern side, and Fremont to its northern edge. Milpitas is in the northeast area of the South Bay, and it borders the East Bay and also Fremont. Milpitas also acts as the corporate headquarters of Intersil, Solectron, Maxtor, Adaptec, LSI Logic and SanDisk which are located in the industrial areas of Milpitas.The city of Milpitas covers a total area of 35.3 square kilometres, of which 35.1 square kilometres is land and 0.2 square kilometres is water. The average altitude of Milpitas is about 19 feet. Milpitas has a population of 62,698 as per the census of 2000. The city has a modest Mediterranean climate. Milpitas has warm weather and sunny climate but not intense temperatures. The temperatures are comparatively warm during the winter at an average ranging from 40 °F to 58 °F. Little rain is experienced in Milpitas from the month of June to September. The weather cools down gradually by the arrival of autumn.
