The Monterey International Pop Music Festival was a three day concert which is held from June 16 to June 18 started in 1967 at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. The city, Monterey was the first widely promoted and also heavily attended rock festival attracting more than 200,000 total attendees with 90,000 people present at the event. The festival embodied the themes of San Francisco.
