Newbury Park is a community which is situated in California and is an unincorporated area of south Ventura County. It is believed that this area was at first inhabited by the HEID People about 7,000 years ago. Later on, it was inhabited by the Chumash people. There are many ancient burial sites near to the Santa Monica Mountains in south side of the community. The community is named after Egbert Starr Newbury, who owned thousands of acres of land in the Conejo Valley in 1870s.
In 2009, Newbury Park has a population of 43,292 people. And since 2000, it has had a population growth of 14.83 percent.

On average, there are 273 sunny days each year in this area. The month of July is warm with 76 degrees and the month of January is cold with 45 degrees.
