North Hollywood can be described as a district located in region of San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California. It lies along Tujunga Wash.
North Hollywood had been established by ‘Lanhershim Ranch Land and Water Company’ in the year 1887. It was named ‘Toluca’ first; prior to being given the nomenclature of ‘Lankershim’ in the year 1896. The present name was given in the year 1927.
North Hollywood, just like majority of San Fernando Valley; had once been portion of big landholdings pertaining to Franciscan Mission San Fernando Rey de Espana. They were, however, confiscated during Mexican reign by government.
The climate of North Hollywood is dry in summers and warm in winters. As such, the period between April and September would prove to be the best one to pay a visit. In July, maximum temperature is recorded, i.e. 77 degree F; whereas in January, 50 degree F is recorded.
Population as per census conducted in the year 2009 was recorded to be 16183.
