The 3rd largest city in San Diego County is Oceanside. The city is so called, because it is located on the seashore. Oceanside, along with Carlsbad and Vista cities, make a Tri- City area in Californian State of the United States. The US Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is located to the north of Oceanside. This city has been growing rapidly over a short period. According to the 2000 census, the population is 173,303 residents. Looking at the fast economical growth, the city may exceed 200,000 residents by the year 2010.
Though, Oceanside is located in California, it has the mildest climate in the whole of United States. Due to the presence of the sea, the Mediterranean climate is suppressed a little and it becomes mild. The climate remains pleasant throughout the year. Hence, this area can be visited at any time.
