Tourist Guide Oxnard
Oxnard is the largest city situated in the Ventura County of California.
As per the US Census Bureau records, the city has a total area of 94.8 km² and a population of 192,997.
The city has a Mediterranean or dry subtropical climate which produces mild warm summers and mild cool winters.
Generally the weather is cool and dry, with 354 days of sunshine a year. Snowfall is almost non-existent.
Since it is located at the western edge of the fertile Oxnard Plain, it is considered to be one of the world's most important agricultural centres, its specialties being strawberries and lima beans.
The city has two major U.S. Navy bases (Port Hueneme and Point Mugu) and it is also an important transit hub in the south of California.
It also houses a regional airport called Oxnard Airport (OXR).
Oxnard produces the largest quantity of strawberries in the whole of California supplying about one third of the state's annual volume.
