Pacific Grove is a coastal town having a population of about 15,552 in Monterey County, California and is beautifully situated between the two famous adjacent cities Pebble Beach and Monterey, with the Carmel by the Sea city which is 5 miles to the south.
The San Francisco Bay people visit this place as it is a perfect weekend escape. The city is known for its Victorian homes, Point Pinos lighthouse which is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse, Museum of Natural history and the Stowitts Museum & Library.
The city is a natural habitat for several types which include marine, pine forest and mixed oak woodland. It is known for the breeding Monarch butterfly in the southern part of town. Killing a butterfly is an offense and punishable by 1000$ fine.
