Monarch Grove Butterfly Sanctuary
Opened by the city of Pacific Grove to preserve the habitat of butterflies which flock the Eucalyptus grove every October to warmer climates as well as providing an opportunity to the people to witness this spectacular sight. Monarchs stay in this sanctuary till February and then move south and admission to this sanctuary is free and October is best time to visit.
Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History
This museum is dedicated to interpreting the natural history of Monterey County and people can get to know about the Ohlone, Esselen, Salinan, and other native tribes which had inhabited the Monterey Bay. Some of the permanent exhibits in the museum feature native plants, sea life, animals and geology of the region. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00.
Asilomar State Beach
A narrow one mile stripped sandy beach having rock caves and has 3/4 mile of the coast for walking which is open for the pedestrians. A nice spot to relax and enjoy the nature’s beauty and cultural history and is a part of Pacific Grove Fish Garden Refuge and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
Point Pinos Lighthouse
This lighthouse is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the West Coast which was built in 1855 on the northernmost tip of the Peninsula. Every part of the building is original lenses, building and prisms. Open between 13:00 to 16:00 everyday.
