The Palm Springs Art Museum which was formerly known as The Palm Springs Desert Museum was founded in 1938 in a small room and was gradually expanded because of the need of more exhibitions and educational facilities.
This museum emphasizes on three things - Art, Natural Science and Performing Arts. The museum is considered as one of the extraordinary institutions in the country and has received many accreditations until 2005.
It covers a huge area of 124,435 square feet. The museum has art galleries, a mezzanine, a sculpture terrace, 90 seat lecture hall, wildlife reserve habitat, botanical garden and many other attractions.
