Palm Springs: Attractions and more...
Palm Springs has been home to some of Hollywood’s most renowned celebrities. It is also the home of many festivals like the world famous International Film Festival, which is held at the beginning of January. The International Festival of Short Films, held in August, is the second largest in the world.
Imprints of celebrities can be found at the Starwalk, a sidewalk similar to the one at Hollywood. You can also rub shoulders with the elite by hanging out at the various desert casinos.
A popular tourist attraction is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, which is the world’s largest rotating tramcar system. The journey from the Chino Canyon to the east edge of the Long Valley offers a spectacular view of the mountains.
Take a break from the glamour and visit the Air Museum (hosting one of the world’s largest collections of fighter jets and war craft dating back to World War II) and the Art Museum (with its unique travelling art exhibitions).
