Palmdale city lies in the Antelope Valley of Los Angeles County, California State in the United States.
This was the first settlement in Antelope Valley, which later became a city.
Palmdale was founded in August 1962. The cities of Los Angeles and Palmdale are separated by the San Gabriel mountain ranges.
The small community of Palmdale has been growing continuously over a 25 year period. For this entire period, it has been ranked in the list of one of the fastest developing cities in the nation.
Due to its economic development, the city's population is growing incredibly. As per the 2008 census, the population of Palmdale is around 147,897 residents.
The climate of the city is also responsible for the increase in its population. Palmdale mainly experiences Mediterranean climatic conditions.
However, since it is located in the southern part of California, it possesses a desert like climate. The summers are hot and the winters are completely frostless.
