Tourist Guide Pomona
Pomona city lies to the east of the San Jose Hills at the western end of Ponoma Valley in Los Angeles County, in California. The city covers a total area of 59.2 km2. This is the 5th largest city in the county and has an estimated population of 160,815 inhabitants, as per the 2005 census.
The city was incorporated in 1888 and named after the Roman goddess of fruit, Pomona. It is surrounded by Chino and Montclair on the east, Industry on the south west, Claremont and La Verne on the north and Diamond Bar and Chino Hills on the south.
The climate is dry sub-tropical with warm summers and cool winters. The warmest month is August and December is the coldest month. Rain falls more in winter than in summer, with February being the wettest month.
