The Porterville Historical Museum is located at the old Southern Pacific depot. It was constructed in 1913. The museum houses creative work of the Yokut Indians and other items such as toys, furniture and kitchen utensils that were used by previous settlers. The eight mosaics placed at the yard of this museum emphasize a special event or place in the olden times of Porterville.
