Rancho Mirage, the city in California is situated in Riverside County. Rancho Mirage is one among the eight cities of the Coachella Valley located between the Palm Desert and the Cathedral City. It was incorporated in the year 1973. The total area of Rancho Mirage is 64 square kilometres. It covers a total land area of 63 square kilometres and has a total water area of 1 square kilometre. The total elevation of Rancho Mirage is 83 meters. According to the census of 2000, the population of Rancho Mirage was 13,249 with a population density of 210.4 people per square kilometre. Rancho Mirage provides twelve golf fields which are known as country clubs. The Thunderbird Guest Ranch was the first resort for golf intended for business clients and entertainers started in the year 1946. The Springs, Tamarisk, Sunrise, Mission Hills are the other resorts for golf. Desert Island, the hotel cum golf resort is a ten storied building constructed on an island. An artificial pond surrounds the Desert Island. The time zone followed in Rancho Mirage is PST (UTC-8).
