Redding is located in Shasta County in California, USA. Redding was initially inhabited by the people of the Wintu tribe; the Europeans only discovered this place in the nineteenth century. This city was founded in 1873 and incorporated on 4 October 1887. With an area of around 60 sq km, the city houses a population of approximately 82,000 residents.
Although a small city, Redding has the necessary infrastructure that makes it a good tourist destination. The topography of this city includes hills, beautiful lakes, lush vegetation, rivers and so forth.
Redding experiences a Mediterranean climate with very hot summers and mild wet winters. The average temperature during summer remains at around 38°C, and the average winter temperature is approximately 10°C.
The economy of Redding is diverse with contributions from the business community, service sector and the tourism and manufacturing industries.
