The Sundial Bridge is a cantilever spar cable-stayed bridge especially for pedestrians and bicycles. This bridge spans the Sacramento River in Redding and is the world’s largest sundial. It is designed by Santiago Calatrava, and its construction completed in 2004 with a total cost of 23,500,000 dollars. This amazing bridge is 700 feet in length and 23 feet in width. It offers pedestrian access to the north and south areas of Turtle Bay Exploration Park. The bridge is set at 42 degree angle and is loaded by cable stays on one side. This bridge crosses the Sacramento River without touching the river.
