Mecca Beach

This beach is situated one mile near the headquarters area providing tourists’ excellent camping opportunities and also guidance to visitors who are new to camping.  Desert vegetation and trees surrounding the region provide pleasant shade to the camps. The best period for fishing is between March to July.

Salton Sea State Recreation Area

This park is situated on the northeastern side of the Sea attracting thousands of visitors annually. The tourists can chose from 1,400 campsites, trails, six different campgrounds, hundreds of playgrounds and visitors center.

Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge

This national refuge is second most popular spot for the bird watchers to enjoy a variety of birds. Annually some millions of birds migrate and inhabit the region. About 400 species of birds which include terns, geese, gulls, ducks, great blue herons, endangered brown pelicans and ospreys. Every winter the annual Salton Sea Bird Festival takes place.
