California Caverns
The ‘California Caverns’ within Cave City exist since the year 1850. Thousands of tourists are drawn to these caves due to their gorgeous crystalline formations. Previously, this cave was called ‘Mammoth Cave’. Originally, tours were much shorter as compared to today, as more about the cave is being discovered every now and then. The timings are as follows:
12th of April to 30th of September
10:00 to 17:00 (all 7 days)
1st of October to 30th of November
10:00 to 16:00
Calaveras County Historical Museum
This museum was a courthouse and ‘county jail’ once upon a time. It now exhibits American Indian mining components. Calaveras County Historical Museum also has a garden consisting of native trees and plants. As such, only those who are interested in mining can enjoy over here.
