The Mission District is also known as The Mission and is a neighborhood in San Francisco. This neighborhood is named after the sixth Alta California mission, Mission San Francisco de Asis. Moreover, it is economically and ethnically diverse, having a population of half Latino, 11 percent of Asian and a third of White. Also, the mission District is a part of San Francisco’s supervisorial districts 5, 9 and 10.

Mission is a district in San Francisco and is named after the sixth Alta California mission, the oldest building in the neighborhood. Thrice a year, Mission hosts Carnival style parades, beginning at 24th and Bryant streets, which proceeds along the 24th Street and up Mission Street. One can attend the annual Dia de los Muertos procession which is a candlelight nighttime event. Some of the landmarks here include Mission Dolores, Dolores Park, Mission High School and many more sights. The district is popular and also influential for introducing Mexican food to the Americans, especially burritos. What’s more, the neighborhood is wealthy in musical performances and groups.
