Located on the west side of Van Ness Avenue across the rear façade of City Hall, the War Memorial Opera House is a part of the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center. This house seats almost 3,146 seats along with 200 standing room places. Moreover, it has been the house of the San Francisco Opera since its opening night in 1932. It is the one of the largest performing arts centers in United States.
