Piedras Blancas is a rookery on Highway 1 and seven miles to the north of San Simeon on the California Central Coast. It is home to almost 15,000 animals. This area is open for viewing year round and there is no admission fee required. There are bay sea lions at this sanctuary. One can get to watch Northern Elephant seals battle over breeding territory and such scenery.
