Santa Barbara is the renowned tourist destination that is famous for its downtown beaches, fair weather and Spanish architecture. The development of the city is well supported by the transportation service that it provides. The city is bisected by U.S. Route 101 which is considered as a primary transportation corridor that links the city to the Central Coast region. The commercial air service is provided by the Santa Barbara Airport.

The city is also known for the rail services it has to offer through Amtrak. The Coast Starlight and the Pacific Surfliner are the trains that operate from the train station at the State Street. The Greyhound bus stations are located at the downtown and provide bus services through the Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District service. The travelers can also avail the facilities provided by the electric shuttles that are operated by the MTD ferry.
