The Santa Barbara Mission was established on the feast of Saint Barbara in 1786. It was the tenth of the twenty one California Missions which was founded by the Spanish Franciscans. More than 200 years later, the mission still continues to be the main cultural and historic landmark in Santa Barbara. This historic building has a retreat center with conference rooms, guest rooms, a museum, a gift shop, a beautiful church with active parish, dining room, kitchen and many such amenities.
