Tourist Guide Sequoia National Park
Sequoia National Park is located in the southern Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, USA. The park was established in 1890 and is the country’s second oldest National Park. The city of Visalia lies to the west, while Los Angeles lies nearly 320 km to the south.
The park’s elevation ranges from 425 m to 4,400 m which results in a diverse weather pattern. The region usually experiences hot summers and snowy winters with temperatures falling below –15°C.
The region boasts of having the highest point in the contiguous United States Mount Whitney. This massive peak towers over the landscape at nearly 4,400 m above sea level.
Sequoia National Park is administered along with the Kings Canyon National Park in the north. An approximated one million guests visit Sequoia National Park every year.
