Simi Valley lies in the south east of Ventura County in California and borders the San Fernando Valley in the Greater Los Angeles region.

The city has a total area of 39.5 sq miles and a population of 118,687 as per the 2005 census.

The city is surrounded by Simi Hills to the south and east and the Santa Susana Mountains to the north.

The Santa Susana Pass connects the city to the nearby San Fernando Valley. The city was ranked as one of the safest cities with a population over 100,000.

The city experiences a moderate climate which is pleasant through the year.

The city has a large number of parks, ice skating rinks, tennis courts, picnic spots, bike trails and the largest equestrian trails for horse riding in the United States.
