Stockton has a population of about 289,927 and is the 13th largest city in California. Rich and fertile lands of the California Central Valley surround Stockton and it is also home to the largest inland seaport in California.
In and around Stockton there are thousands of miles of waterways, canals, and rivers which are collectively known as the California Delta. Stockton has a temperate Mediterranean climate with summer from May until September and winter from December until March. Rains are prominent in May or June.
Presently, the city offers tourists and residents a seemingly endless range of leisure and entertainment opportunities that range from tours of vineyards around San Joaquin Valley to outdoor activities in the Delta Waterway.
Diverse cultural and musical festivals also add to Stockton’s appeal. More than once Stockton has won the "All-America City Award" given by the National Civic League.
