Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival, which was known by the name ‘Rancho California Balloon and Wine Festival’, had been started in the year 1983; thanks to Walt Darren. He was an avid balloonist and a ‘commercial airline pilot’. During its inception, this region could boast of just 6 wineries. Thereafter, the festival went on growing and this festive event moved on to ‘Sports Park’. In the year 1988, this festival went on to feature ‘live big name entertainment’ with Little Anthony, Imperials, and Coasters. In the year 1991, Beach Boys made an entry in Temecula Balloon Festival; thereby entertaining newcomers and locals.
