Tourist Guide Truckee
Truckee is a town in Nevada County, California, United Sates. As of the 2000 census the total population of the city was 13,864. The city was called after Tru-ki-zo, a Piute chief, who was the grandpa of Sarah Winnemucca and father of Chief Winnemucca. As per the Census Bureau of United Sates the city has a total area of 33.8 square miles. According to the report presented by the National Weather Service, the warmest month of Truckee is July which experiences a standard temperature of 82.7 degrees and the coldest month is January. Amtrak is the central traveler rail system that offers service to the city. Reno, Sacramento and Nevada are the universities located nearby the city. Like several high-mountain cities, Truckee is also an historic place. It is a place where Donner Party got trapped when they were on their route to California. Tourists can find children’s museum, sports center and fun picture galleries within the vicinity of the city. Truckee is located 12 mile northward of Lake Tahoe and 31 miles west ward of Reno.
