Weott is an unincorporated community situated in Humboldt County in California. With elevation feet of 285, it is situated along the Avenue of the Giants. It is said that this town was named after the Wiyot tribe, and the word “weott” is translated as “by the river” which refers to the South Fork and Eel River.

The town retains a small town atmosphere as it is an isolated place. It is surrounded on most of its sides by huge ancient redwoods and the Humboldt Redwoods State Park.

It has a population of 450 people. By 2009, the town population is 704 people. Since 2000, it has had a population growth of 1.31 percent.

The area enjoys a nice climate with sunshine during the summer season and lots of rain during the winter season. The town receives 67.5 inches of rainfall and 19.9 inches of snowfall each year.
