When to visit

Nicknamed as the Golden State, California is home to the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the Redwood Douglas-fir forests, the Mojave Desert and many other attractions.

California is frequently bathed in sun, warmth and offers beaches with an agreeable climate year round. Tourists come to see the deserts, coasts, forests, mountains and valleys. So, the best time to visit these places varies. The climate here is varied because it is not possible to generalize the good time to visit this State. However, tourists visit this beautiful State year round.

The summers are rather cool, exceptionally good for camping, hiking, outdoor activities around Lake Tahoe and Shasta Cascades. From late November to early April, many can ski this area for experiencing amazing snowfall. The southern part of California, including San Diego and Los Angeles are also worth visiting.

Those who would like to avoid crowd can visit California from late September to early December. Also, anytime is a good time to visit the California wine country.

In short, many can visit this beautiful State during the spring (March to May) for waterfalls or in the winters from mid to late spring (December to April/May).  The mountains can be explored in spring avoiding the summer months as the place is prone to thunderstorms. The coasts are worth exploring any time of the year.
