Situated in Montgomery County in Tennessee, USA, the city of Clarksville is located on the confluence of the Red River and the Cumberland River. Part of Tennessee’s Delta region, the city is surrounded by beautiful lakes, caves and is blessed with a stunning landscape. The city covers a total area of 247.4 sq km.
Founded in 1784, the city is named after General George Rogers Clark, a Revolutionary War hero. Nicknamed as the ‘Gateway to the New South’, it has a population of around 115,000.

The city is famous as the home of Austin Peay State University and Fort Campbell—a US Army installation. The University is host to a number of cultural events. The topography of the city consisting of its many lakes makes it one of the top spots for water sports.
