If one is falling short of time, but still intends to get fitted in the hike which would give him/her certain hint with regards to famed backcountry of Aspen, he/she can wander down Crater Lake Trail. Its length is just 1.8 miles. However, it goes on to present the most ‘dramatic’ scenery of mountains in the US. This trail, whose elevation above sea level is not even 500 feet, starts at ‘Maroon Lake’ and happens to get wound via stands of pines and aspens prior to having dropped down towards Crater Lake.
