The Black Canyon Gunnison National park is exclusive and has magnificent surroundings which were formed gradually by act of water and rock scouring downwards through solid Proterozoic crystalline rock.
This national park is situated in the western Colorado and is administered by National Park Service. The park is accessible through two entrances in which one is the developed south entrance on the east of Montrose and the north entrance is on the south of Crawford but is closed during winter seasons.
About 12 mile of the 48 mile long canyon is a part of Gunnison River. The park itself consists of the deepest and dramatic sections of the Canyon though the canyon stretches upstream to the Curecanti National Recreation Area and downstream inside the Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area.
