Skyline Drive is a one way paved road which runs 3 miles along the narrow 800 foot high ridge and winds along the crest of the Dakota hogback. This drive was constructed by the inmates from the State prison in early 20th century. The view from the Drive is rather breathtaking and the ridge is a geological marvel and the hogback formations below it too are amazing to see. There are dinosaur tracks embedded in the rock at one of the pull-offs on the road. There are no guard rails along all of the Skyline Drive.
