Colorado Springs is a city in Colorado State, USA. Seat of the El Paso County, Colorado Springs is more than 110 km south of the state capital Denver and is at an elevation of 1,800 m. The city is home to the prestigious US Air Force Academy.
Colorado Springs experiences moderate climate without too many extremes owing to natural protection from the Colorado Rockies in the west and the Monument Divide to the north. Winter temperatures range from –10°C–5°C, while summer temperatures range between 13°C–30°C. Occasional blizzards and lightening strikes are regular weather phenomena here.
With its population of 370,000 people, Colorado Springs has the title of being the second most populous city in Colorado and the forty-ninth most populous city in America. Military and tourism are mainly responsible for driving the economy.
