The 210 foot twin spires and 75 beautifully-colored stained glass windows imported from Munich, Germany are exquisite features of the Cathedral Basilica of Immaculate Conception, a church where His Holiness Pope John Paul II celebrated mass in 1993. The exterior is made of granite and limestone while the interior has lots of Italian-imported marble, including the altar and the pulpit. It’s 68 foot vaulted ceilings add to the dramatic impact upon entering. The city comes alive Sunday mornings when the sounds of 4 of the 15 bells in the east spire are rung. Catholics and non-catholics are welcome at the daily and Sunday masses.
