Get your fill of “howdy” and “saddle up” when you tour the Colorado History Museum where one of the biggest cowboy exhibits in the country would make even Gene Autry and Roy Rogers proud to called cowboys.
Cowboy hats and boots and anything “cowboy” can be found along with historical exhibits all about mining and railroads and everything that made Colorado what it is today. A collection of artifacts from the Mesa Verde Indian tribes is a “must see”. Admission to the museum is free. It is currently closed during a period of relocation to a new location at 12th and Broadway.
The new site will include plans for an interactive 3-story multi-media experience where participants can ski jump, go underground mining and ride in an old Model-T Ford. Hours are Mon. – Sat. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sun. from noon to 5 p.m.
