Stroll the streets of the 16th Street Mall, an outdoor shopping mall in downtown Denver. It offers a free bus that travels the length of the mall if you get tired out window shopping the souvenir shops, clothing stores and great restaurants. Take in the charm of the area where street performers entertain and horse-drawn carriages take you back in time.
Check out the programming schedule at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. For family-friendly theatre productions they offer “buy one, get one free” ticket nights. For a night of art, visit Museo De Las Americas for free the first Friday of each month from 5 – 9 p.m.
The Denver Art Museum also has free first Saturdays where you can take in 7000 images in the Photography Gallery or visit the exhibits with Textile Art and African and Asian Art. The Coors Brewing Company has free self-guided audio tours of their brewery and 3 free samples of those of legal drinking age. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
