Arizona is popular for the Saguaro cactus, the fruit of which is eaten by the local people and the dried ribs of which can be used as a building material.
If one is fond of plants one can visit the Lost Dutchman State Park. Arizona has a varied and wonderful environment with its wildlife, canyons, forests, rock formations and mountains.
However, the arid atmosphere of the state can dehydrate a person so it is wise to drink lots of water and always carry a bottle of water while hiking.
Be careful while driving a car in a dust storm and wait for a while till the storm calms down, also do not forget to keep the lights of the car on while waiting in the storm to avoid others from banging on you.
The Cholla Cactus is the most dangerous variety and one needs to avoid contact with them.
